For the tomato harvest, there was a strong need for hygienic pumps with high flow rates. Triggered by this challenge in the U.S.A, a new High Capacity Hygienic (HCH) series was developed for the food and beverage industry, specifically designed for high flow rates. In 2018 the first application had a capacity of 136 m³/h and makes full use of it every year during the tomato harvest in California in the summertime. The whole series supports flow rates up to 1500 m³/h. In addition to other hygienic pumps, it can convey and clean in one pump (CIP), and can handle product integrity (product maintains particular size, surface and visual integrity) and a high flexibility (wide range of flows, speeds, extremely high viscosities, different operating points). Furthermore, it has good suction characteristics and can lift the product up to 8.5 meters. The low pulsation and no metal-to-metal contact result in a long service life.
