Guideline for the suppliers of Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH
Scope of application for these quality regulations
These Bornemann quality regulations require that all suppliers or manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as supplier) take suitable steps to ensure in particular that the quality assurance system is effective, goods are delivered free of defects and that services provided correspond to the provisions contained in the purchase contract. The regulations apply to all incoming deliveries. In addition to these regulations, the Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH Terms and Conditions of Purchase form an integral part of each supply contract.
Basic quality principles
The prevailing basic quality principles ensue from:
- the binding order including the provisions mentioned therein
(DIN standards, plant-developed standards, engineering specifications, data sheets, drawings etc.)
- specially agreed test requirements and test instruments
- the additional order details (for example, packaging requirements) and
- the statutory regulations
- other agreements such as for example framework agreements, quality assurance agreements, co-operation agreements etc.
The terms and conditions which ensue from these documents, in their most recent version, are to be complied with strictly and this also applies to subcontractors' materials and parts. The order documents must be checked immediately so that the supplier can inform Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH's purchasing department immediately if he is unable to comply with one or several points contained in the order provisions.
Prerequisites for assuring quality
The supplier is required to meet consistently the stipulated requirements and to monitor quality using an effective quality assurance system. This includes for example having adequate technical equipment and manpower as well as an effective organisation with regard to the prevention and detection of errors.
The supplier must prove that his product always meets the required specifications.
If requested, the supplier will submit his quality assurance procedures.
- Statistical process regulation
The supplier must carry out machine and process capability studies and submit the results if requested.
Goods inward inspection
Incoming goods are inspected by Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH (partly taking random samples) and, depending on whether they conform with the basic quality principles, are then
- released
- accepted under reservation or
- rejected.
Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH's purchasing department will inform the supplier immediately of defects in the delivery as soon as these have been detected, taking into account the conditions that prevail in the ordinary course of business.
The warranty period ends when 24 months have expired since delivery to Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH unless individual contractual agreements have been entered into which state otherwise.
Quality assessment
Each delivery from a supplier obtains its inspection results in the incoming goods department and is then subjected to a regular supplier assessment by Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH.
Serious and/or frequent defects can result in a supplier being suspended, the worst scenario being that the customer/supplier relationship is terminated.
Final comment
Joh. Heinr. Bornemann GmbH would like in future to develop a close working partnership with its suppliers which is future- and market-orientated and which is geared towards providing our customers with total satisfaction. In this sense we would appreciate any suggestions or ideas, including any suggestions for improvement.
