The system was installed in October 2003 at the satellite platform McMoran 299B in the Gulf of Mexico. The satellite platform was working independent with a conventional separation/compression process and 2 pipelines (oil & gas) until 2002, when they lost the gas pipeline (unknown reasons). The decision between replacing the gas pipeline and the installation of a multiphase pump was strictly commercial. The savings were around 4,5 Mio US dollars with the multiphase pump installation.
