5 pump skids for FPSO vessel

Bornemann delivered 5 pump skids for produced water for the FPSO vessel for the Bohai Phase II Development Project from CNOPC (Conoco Phillips China) and CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation).

The FPSO will have a processing and handling capacity of 190,000 barrels of oil and 510,000 barrels of gas fluid per day. It will be installed in China's largest offshore oil field, the Penglai 19-3 field, and will be fed from 6 wellhead platforms. Currently the topside modules are being built in Singapore. Start-up of the vessel is scheduled for November 2008.

These Bornemann twin screw pumps will boost the produced water from the first separation tanks to the subsequent centrifugal separators where the remaining oil and sand will be taken out of the produced water. For environmental reasons this is required due to the fact that the produced water is re-injected into the ground.

The produced water will have a chloride content of up to 18,000 ppm by weight; therefore all medium touched parts of the pumps are constructed in duplex stainless steel. The pump elements (screws) are coated with tungsten carbide and the replaceable liner with a stellite welded-on layer due to the sand content of up to 55 pounds per 1,000 barrel’s of liquid.
