For a hygienic Production - The decisive Advantages of the Modular System

1. CIP und SIP – easy cleaning and sterilization

The 2-in-1 principle conveys and cleans with one pump

Due to the high speed range of up to 3,000 rpm, process sequences as well as flushing and CIP procedures can be performed using just one pump. The fact that a corresponding CIP pump, the requisite pipework, along with the associated valve and measurement and control technology can be omitted is an obvious advantage. This not only saves space, but also reduces the overall scale of the investment.

2. Flexible

The right solution for all applications

The high speed bandwidth (100 to 3,000 rpm) of the SLH pump gives it a very high degree of flexibility, which ensures that the correct operating point for various operating pressures, viscosities, and temperatures can always be found. Consequently, the same pump can be used to convey different products because only the speed needs to be adjusted to the new operating conditions. Products with low to very high viscosities (over 1,000,000 cSt) can be conveyed without difficulty.

3. Gentle on the product

Low-shear, low-pulsation delivery for sensitive products

Thanks to the delivery principle of the SLH pump, which moves the medium axially within a chamber through the pump, the product is conveyed very gently. Furthermore, this delivery principle results in very low-pulsation operation, which also protects the product. In addition, the pump features very low shear – a particularly important factor for delicate products such as yogurt. Furthermore, the pump is suitable for media containing chunks such as sauces with cooked onions and tomatoes or fruit juices containing pieces of mango.
The product being pumped is therefore protected and its consistency, appearance, and quality are preserved.

4. Hygienic Design

By design, EHEDG & 3-A - the benchmark for hygienic desplacement pumps

The design of the SLH pump meets the ever-increasing hygiene requirements in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The rounded exterior contour of the SLH-4G pump also meets the strictest requirements. The pump is certified to 3-A and EHEDG type EL class I. The SLH-4G is also certified to EHEDG type EL Aseptic class I since 2014. This reflects the standards that ITT Bornemann sets for its hygienic pumps. That's because these certifications demonstrate the level of hygiene inside the pumps and that they are easy to clean or sterilize.
However, the design of the SLH pump (3-part housing) also makes it ideally suitable for manual cleaning.

5. Extremely wear-resistant

For high production safety and extended service lives

The delivery principle employed by the SLH pump allows it to convey products without any metallic contact between the screws and the pump housing.  In this way, abrasive media can easily be conveyed without causing wear.
For extremely abrasive media such as chili paste or highly saccharated media, special additional anti-wear options can be applied. The conveyor elements can also be made from different materials to ensure resistance against the medium while at the same time retaining a suitable hardness.

6. High suction power

Only the limits of physics can stop us

The SLH pump is self-priming and can generate vacuums of up to -0.8 bar.  This allows products to be conveyed from the de-aerator or drained from tanker trucks without difficulty.
